PostgreSQL 9.1 Development Plan

Jump to navigationJump to searchThis is the currently planned timeline for the PostgreSQL 9.1 development cycle, which was mainly agreed upon at the PgCon 2010 Developer Meeting. The schedule basically follows the 8.5/9.0 timeline plus one year, with small changes.
- June 15, 2010 - July 15, 2010: "review fest", like a commit fest, but only reviews, no committing yet; intended for contributors who are not involved in preparing 9.0 release
- July 1, 2010: branch off 9.0, committing into head/trunk/master for 9.1 can begin (likely delayed for a few days until after 9.0beta3)
- July 15, 2010 - August 15, 2010: commit fest 1
- around August 17-20, 2010: Switching PostgreSQL from CVS to Git
- around August 20, 2010: 9.1alpha1 release
- September 15, 2010 - October 15, 2010: commit fest 2
- around October 20, 2010: 9.1alpha2 release
- November 15, 2010 - December 15, 2010: commit fest 3
- around December 20, 2010: 9.1alpha3 release
- January 15, 2011 - February 15, 2011: commit fest 4
- around February 20, 2011: 9.1alpha4 release
- followed by possibly more alpha releases
- beta
- release candidates
- release
