Main Responsibilities

The Code of Conduct (CoC) Committee plays a vital role in ensuring that all conference attendees feel safe, respected, and welcome. The committee’s purpose is to handle reports of behaviour that may violate the conference’s Code of Conduct.

Committee members are listed on the conference website, along with clear and confidential contact options for attendees.

If an attendee experiences or witnesses a potential violation, they can report it confidentially to the committee. The committee will then:

  • Receive and review the report
  • Investigate the incident respectfully and fairly
  • Support those affected
  • Take appropriate and proportionate action based on the conference’s Code of Conduct policies

Who Can Be Part of the Code of Conduct Committee

Committee members are invited and appointed by the conference organisers. They are typically experienced community members who are trusted to handle sensitive matters with discretion, empathy, and fairness.

Notes

  • Not every conference will have a dedicated Code of Conduct committee.
In such cases, attendees should contact the global PostgreSQL Code of Conduct Committee for support.
  • Some conferences may also provide a dedicated phone number or emergency contact for the CoC Committee, which should be listed on the event website and in attendee materials.
  • All committee members should be familiar with the PostgreSQL Code of Conduct and follow the standard procedures outlined there.
