Usage

Add a patch to a commitfest queue by writing:

{{patch|Message ID|Patch name|Author name[|status=Patch status][|reviewers=Reviewers]}}

in the appropriate section.

Message ID

The Message ID is required because it links to the email message in the PostgreSQL mailing list archives. You can usually get the message ID of your email by looking for the header Message-Id in your email client. Try View message source or View original if it's not obviously visible.

Patch name

A succinct description of your patch. This will usually be much the same as the subject line of your email to pgsql-patches@postgresql.org.

Patch status

Patch status defaults to "Pending review", but you can mark your patch as "For discussion" or "WIP" if it's not intended for review and subsequent commit just yet.

When a patch is committed, the status should be set to "Committed", followed by the date in YYYY-MM-DD format.

Reviewers

Reviewers is for reviewers, to let other reviewers know that they are currently looking at a patch so as to avoid duplication of work. (Note: this used to be called "claimed by". Don't use that in new pages. The renaming of this variable caused a silly bug in the CommitFest:May page that causes an extra "Nobody" to be shown, but it's minor enough that I don't think it's worth fixing ... unless someone knows how to do it.)
