This is the currently planned timeline for the PostgreSQL 9.1 development cycle, which was mainly agreed upon at the [[PgCon 2010 Developer Meeting]].  The schedule basically follows the 8.5/9.0 timeline plus one year, with small changes.

  • June 15, 2010 - July 15, 2010: "review fest", like a commit fest, but only reviews, no committing yet; intended for contributors who are not involved in preparing 9.0 release
  • July 1, 2010: branch off 9.0, committing into head/trunk/master for 9.1 can begin (likely delayed for a few days until after 9.0beta3)
  • July 15, 2010 - August 15, 2010: commit fest 1
  • around August 20, 2010: 9.1alpha1 release
  • around August 20-23, 2010 (after 9.1alpha1): Switching PostgreSQL from CVS to Git
