Schedule

Schedule is on the PUGS page.

Volunteer Sign-Up

We need volunteers! We need you to sign up for one or more shifts at LinuxWorldExpo for booth duty and many other things. We can attract lots of new users at LinuxWorld, but only if you help!

Also, if you volunteer at LinuxWorldExpo, you get:

  • a blue PostgreSQL t-shirt (which you'll be asked to wear)
  • up to two invitations to the pgDay party (since we may run out)

Please put yourself down with your name, e-mail address and cell phone number. If you don't want your cell phone number on a wiki, then please e-mail it to josh@postgresql.org.

Load-in, Sunday August 3

Need two or three volunteers to show up and help carry stuff in from my car to the booth and community room, set up the booth, and decorate the community room. One volunteer should meet me at my office (2166 Hayes Street, San Francisco) and help load stuff into the car; the other two should meet us at Moscone Center.

  • 14:00 to 17:00 (meet at Josh's office): David Fetter
  • 15:00 to 17:00 1: John Zarella
  • 15:00 to 17:00 2: Hsing-Tsu Lai

pgDay Staffing, Tuesday August 5

Need several volunteers to help with running the pgDay. This will include being in the community day room, so you won't miss any talks.

  • 13:00 to 17:30 T-shirt & Donations duty: Steve Crawford & Hsing-Tsu Lai

  • 18:30 to 20:30 Invitation Checking: 2:

LinuxWorld Booth Staffing, Tuesday, August 5

While we don't plan to fully run the booth while pgDay is in session, we do need one volunteer to occupy it, direct people to the pgDay, and keep idle passerby from stealing our stuff. Since this will mean missing some of the talks during the pgDay, you should check the schedule and volunteer during talks you don't care about.

  • 09:45 to 11:30: Martin Zaun
  • 11:30 to 13:00: Fred Moyer
  • 12:30 to 14:00: Fred Moyer

LinuxWorld Booth Staffing, Wednesday, August 6 and Thursday, August 7

This is the usual fun booth staffing. 3-4 people at a time, answering "How's this different from MySQL?" and "Do you have clustering?" and "Where do I get Snowball dictionaries for full text search in Finnish?". You can meet a lot of amazing people at an open source conference who are using PostgreSQL, and this is the place to do it.
